Ramailo Treks stress that you must take adequate insurance, to cover your trip for every eventuality. This should include the usual cover for baggage, personal possessions as well as sickness liability. You also need to cover yourself for the possibility of medical evacuation by helicopter. Don’t Panic! This is not common, but you need to be covered for every eventuality, and cover for medivac is required.

Please make your own insurance arrangements as there are many reputable agencies that provide this complete insurance at a very reasonable cost, and are often much less than you would pay for travel and medical insurance, bought as part of a typical package holiday, from the high streets.

Don’t forget to disclose, any expensive personal possessions that you may take with you (e.g. camera equipment). You should also disclose any significant past medical history, before you leave the country, as we are all too aware of horror stories concerning travellers who didn’t.
